The Formula 400 Super Sport is an American-built entry into the high-performance luxury sport boat market dominated in recent years by a handful of pricey European imports. Long and narrow, the 400 is built on Formula’s “Fas3Tech” hull bottom—a double- stepped deep-V designed to reduce the water’s grip on the hull. The result, according to company engineers, is a faster and more stable boat that runs at near-optimal running angles without the need to constantly trim the drives. Beautifully styled, the Super Sport is a superb day boat with plenty of cockpit space and a wide- open interior. With the owner’s stateroom aft, a rich Ultraleather wraparound lounge forward and four overhead translucent hatches dominate the salon. On deck, the double-wide helm seat folds away for stand-up driving, and a walk-through windshield opens

to a wide stretch of nonskid leading to the bow. Notable features include a recessed anchor storage compartment, a hinged storage locker at the transom, and good engine access. 

 

The Formula 370 Super Sport is a sleek, aggressively styled sport cruiser with an enviable combination of superior construction, first-rate accommodations and excellent open-water performance. She’s basically a Euro-style sportboat with considerably more cockpit space—and less interior volume—than traditional express cruisers. Performance is important in a boat like this, and the
370’s narrow beam and high-speed stepped hull deliver the fast ride and luxurious accommodations that few other sportboats can match. Her spacious and well-equipped cockpit provides seating and amenities for a small crowd. A removable cocktail table stores in a transom storage locker, and a cockpit galley comes complete with a sink, cooler and refrigerator. The cabin of the 370—among the more impressive in her class—includes a wraparound V-berth/ dinette forward, mid-berth cabin aft, and a compact galley to port with stove and refrigerator. Additional features include a walk- through windshield, transom shower, tilt steering, and a flip-up bolster seat at the helm. Fit and finish is very good.

The Formula 40 is a premium offshore express designed for those who place a priority on luxury and performance. There are no decals on the 40 PC—Formula is the only builder in this class that offers standard Imron hull graphics. With 6’7″ of headroom below, the cabin accommodations are a tasteful blend of high-gloss cherry cabinetry, Ultraleather upholstery, and high-end appliances and furnishings. The crescent-shaped dinette features a solid cherry table and two fixed stools, and the Formula’s fully equipped galley includes a round stainless steel sink, under-counter refrigeration, tons of storage, and Corian countertop. Aft of the salon and down a step, the spacious mid-cabin area boasts a convertible U-shaped lounge with seating for six. A forward privacy curtain is standard in the Formula 40 PC .
