A blueprint of intelligent interior design, the Salon perfectly balances form and function, offering luxury, comfort, convenience and ample stowage.  The 68 Convertible has the layout and amenities for long-distance cruising and fishing with ample interior volume for comfortable dining, entertaining and privacy.

Large shapely windows welcome natural light into the climate-controlled Salon.  A walnut interior (satin or high-gloss finish) compliments your custom interior.  Relax in the port L-shaped lounge while taking in a movie on the 40" HD TV that silently rises from the starboard cabinetry with the push of a button.

Viking partner WBC Design creates an attractive atmosphere of luxurious detail throughout the Salon.  The Galley, with its convenient island counter and three bar stools, features engineered stone countertops, Sub-Zero under-counter refrigeration and pull-out drawers.  Facing the Galley, the raised starboard dinette with walnut table seats four comfortably.  A second HD TV can be mounted on the bulkhead forward of the dinette.

The midship Master Stateroom features a queen-size walkaround bed with storage underneath and upholstered headboard, (2) hanging lockers, a pair of credenzas, end tables and a full-size private Head with separate shower.

The Forward Stateroom has a walkaround queen bed that lifts to reveal a cavernous stowage compartment below, while the port Stateroom features twin bunks.

The Flybridge sports a Center Console Helm providing superb visibility to all quarters.  The Viking subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics will design and install all of your electronics, navigation and audio-visual equipment.

The forward Console has a two-person seat with cupholders.  Fishing rods can be kept under port and starboard bench seats.  Store an abundance of bait or food in the forward top-loading freezer.

The Console's forward electronics panel can hold (2) or (3) multi-function displays depending on their size.  Dual radio lockers flank an optional Release Marine teak Helm pod.  Drop-down boxes for teaser reels and electronics are integrated into the hardtop underside.

Decades of fishing experience have contributed to the design of Viking's tournament-winning Cockpits.  The 68 Convertible gives you 176 square feet of real estate to do battle with marlin, tuna, wahoo or whatever species you're on the hunt for.

A walk-through transom door with lift gate leads to the Cockpit with its meticulously installed optional teak sole.  Rounded coamings and toekick around the Cockpit perimeter provide comfort and balance.  All the stainless steel hardware is rock solid and recessed.  An aluminum backing plate is built into the Cockpit sole for fighting chair or rocket launcher installation.  Flush rod holders, fresh water and salt water wash down systems, tackle and gaff stowage, a transom live well and in-deck fish boxes round out the fishability features.

Guests can relax and watch the action from the bi-level Mezzanine's aft facing lounge seating.  The Flybridge overhang shades the area which can also be equipped with air conditioning.  The SeaKeeper, installed in the Lazarette, is well protected.  The Mezzanine holds ample freezer and refrigerated areas for beverages and bait and also provides Engine Room access.

A custom Tuna Tower from Palm Beach Towers, another Viking sister company, adds to the 68 Convertible's industry-leading fishability.  The Flybridge overhang provides shade for the Mezzanine observation area.  The Tower buggy's supporting piping is specifically colored black to decrease glare and increase visibility.

Easily accessed through a centerline entrance under the Mezzanine, the bright Snow White Engine Room illustrates Viking's legendary attention to detail.  You have six feet, six inches of headroom and ample walk-around access to the engines.

Engine choices are available from MTU, MAN and Caterpillar.  With twin MTU Series 2000 V12 M96L diesels (1,945 mph), the 68 Convertible cruises at 35 knots and tops out at 40-plus knots.  The crew rides first-class too with innerspring mattress bunks, TV and stereo and Head with separate shower.
