2013 Pursuit 255

The OS 255 is, and has been, one of Pursuit’s most popular models. At 27’3” LOA including bow pulpit on an 8’9” beam and weighing in at 6,100 pounds dry weight including the most popular power package of twin 150 outboards, it is considered quite reasonably trailerable and thus its popularity. In fact, 8’6” is the legal trailerable width in Canada and in most states and so technically, a trailering permit is required and easily obtainable in most jurisdictions.

Construction highlights of the OS 255 include a one-piece, self draining inner cockpit liner with molded-in integrated transom, molded-in aft bench seat with removable insulated fishbox/cooler beneath, and molded-in seat bases. The bow anchor pulpit is also molded-in as part of the deck mold. The cabin headliner is also molded fibreglass. Foam flotation for sound and thermal insulation purposes as well as for added safety and rigidity surrounds the backbone inner hull stringer system. The hull itself with its relatively deep-vee 21° deadrise, splash rails, high freeboard, and flared bow is designed to offer a smooth, dry ride in relatively big water.

Cockpit amenities include port & starboard aft-facing single seats with backrests and complete with a circulating blue-lined livewell under the hinged port seat cushion and a cooler/fishbox under the starboard one. The cockpit also features padded coaming bolsters, a fresh water sink with umbilical faucet, raw water washdown, transom door leading to removable boarding ladder, four gunwale stainless rod holders, a built-in tackle box, opening side windshield vent windows, plus a swivel helm and companion seat with armrests. Also standard are dual batteries with switching, windshield wipers, trim tabs recessed into the hull mold, and hydraulic steering with a custom stainless steel wheel. For 2014, the hardtop is also standard equipment.

Inside the smoked companionway sliding door, the cabin features a V-berth for two adults with storage beneath and with a china bowl head with holding tank beneath the centre cushion, two storage cabinets, one with a fresh water sink, plus interior lighting, a screened deck hatch and two stainless steel, screened port lites.
