The Fountain 35 Lightning is an incredibly impressive offshore powerboat.

Inspired by race performance technology, the 35 Lightning has beautiful sweeping lines and handles ocean conditions with ease. The twin step Super Ventilated Positive Lift Hull design works superbly when cutting through 3-5ft seas at 60mph. The 35 Lightning feels astonishingly smooth and stable when gliding through swells and wind chop. The Mercury Bravo One XR drives and the performance hull design deliver confidence in high speed corners while keeping the driver and passengers protected from wind and connected to the excitement. The Fountain 35' Lightning is a legendary example of offshore performance that's built to go fast and take a pounding.

2000 Fountain 35 Lightning Overview

This 2000 Fountain 35 Lightning has custom big blocks made by Troy Dennis at Dennis Performance in North Carolina. The engines have Brodix aluminum cylinder heads, CMI anodized E-top headers, Holley 1050 dominator carburetors, MSD blue box ignition with brand new caps, rotors, and wires. The engines produce 600hp and can propel the boat to speeds over 90mph. In 2018 both engines had the top ends re-done by TG Performance out of Gardena, CA. In 2022 the vessel had its entire tansom replaced by Teague Custom Marine. Teague also replaced the gimbal housings for the XR drives and had a leak down test preformed on both engines(good results). Overall this vessel is in nice condition and its seller has done a great job keeping it mechanically very healthy.  This Fountain 35 Lightning is ready and waiting for a new owner to turn the key and put the throttles down.

Cockpit

At the helm, Livorsi gauges are arranged in a horseshoe with a speedometer front and center flanked by twin tachometers. To the left of the steering wheel are the throttles and shifters, above which are the rocker switches for the drives and tabs. Above the dash is a perfect height windscreen with great visibility keeping the driver and passengers well protected from the deafening wind that comes with 90-plus-mph speeds.

Across to the port side, the co-pilot's position has a grab handle and a glove box for stowage. Other stowage areas included gunwale trays and a large space under the bottom cushion of the rear bench.

Grab handles are conveniently mounted within easy reach of bench passengers. Behind the bench is a two-person sunpad and an integrated swim platform and ladder.

Interior

The 35' Lightnings' interior accommodations include twin facing lounge bench seats and a spacious V-berth. Nicely included in the cabin is an enclosed head compartment and a galley with a refrigerator, sink, cabinetry, hanging locker, and plenty of counter space. The radio controls and VHF are conveniently located on the port bulkhead as you enter the cabin.

Construction

The 35' Lightning was handlaid with vinylester resin and quad-directional fiberglass.

All hardware is stainless including a navigation light on the boat's nose, an anchor locker handle, handrails on the deck, handrails on the sunpad, and a cleat on each side of the precisely installed windshield, and two more cleats all the way aft.

A center-mounted electric screw jack raises the engine hatch to a high angle that gives the captain and crew a great look at the motors. Engine mounts are L-angle and through-bolted to the stringers.

Additponal Equipment

The vessel has a 7inch Simrad display, Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF radio, big custom stereo with amplifier and subs, LVYUAN 2000W inverter, and all 3 batteries have only 1 season on them.

Included in the sale is the Road Kings triple axel trailer. The trailer has recently been serviced at West Coast Trailers. They replaced and updated its 3 torsion bar axels, rotors, bearings, pads, coupler and jackstand. Trailer currently has 4 newer tires with a spare tire and wheel. Seller has permanent California plates and pink slip in hand.
