INTRODUCTION

Designed by the late Bruce King, the Talaria 40 features near perfect proportions and an excellent layout.   LE PRIX sleeps two comfortably forward in the V-berth, features a head with separate shower stall, and a full galley. She has port and starboard lounge seating in the pilothouse, with a pedestal table to port. Additional seating in the cockpit includes port and starboard aft-facing settees forward-facing seating at transom, and a custom removable table to port.

HULL AND DECK

Hull is Hinckley DualGuard composite construction, with Kevlar E-glass hybrid and balsa core, SCRIMPed with vinylester resin. Deck and cockpit are E-glass and balsa core, molded with polyester resin. The deck and cockpit sole have a molded-in nonskid pattern.

COCKPIT

The cockpit features forward and aft facing settees, the latter built into the port and starboard engine boxes and topped with varnished teak amenity that separates the cockpit from the pilothouse.  All settees feature cushioned bottoms and backs upholstered in wide black and white stripe fabric.

PILOTHOUSE

The pilothouse features Hinckley’s modified "wood package" trim with varnished teak pilothouse sides, and dash and gelcoat finish on the inside of the cockpit coamings with varnished teak coaming cap.  It has a total of five glass pilothouse windows of which two are sliding side windows and three are the fixed forward windows for exceptional visibility. 

Forward are Stidd helm and companion seats finished in Light Oyster UltraLeather. The Stidd seat pedestal bases are powder coated to match the gelcoat. Both seats are manually adjustable; port seat adjusts up and down and forward and aft; starboard seat adjusts forward and aft.  Each seat has a footrest.

Helm Station (Starboard)

The Helm Station has a varnished teak instrument pod with continuing shelf outboard and aft. Forward of the helm seat and below the shelf outboard is a varnished teak louvered door to a storage locker that also has access to electrical and mechanical systems. Under the helm seat and facing inboard is a storage locker fitted with drawers and a varnished teak louvered door.

Aft Pilothouse:

Pilothouse aft has additional seating with two curved settees, each with a varnished teak shelf rim outboard. Settees face inboard and forward and have back and bottom cushions upholstered in black and white stripe fabric. Dual cupholders built into the teak shelf rim aft both port and starboard. Locker stowage is beneath the port and starboard settees.

INTERIOR BELOW

The Interior is finished in a satin-varnished cherry wood with soft, insulated white overhead with cherry trim. The varnished teak & tulipwood cabin sole has a cabin sole cover. All cabin locker doors are louvered with radius frames.

COMPANIONWAY:

On center are the teak companionway steps up to the Pilothouse and a teak threshold. The lower step is top opening for stowage, and the top-opening second step houses the master disconnect switches to the electrical systems.  The varnished teak companionway door has a louvered upper half and removable bi-folding varnished teak hatch top.

GALLEY (Starboard)

The spacious galley is to starboard and features a fiddled counter top. Forward of the galley is a tall locker separates the forward sleeping area from the galley.

LE PRIX sleeps two forward in large V-berth with center filler cushion.  Aft of the V-berth to port is a cedar-lined hanging locker with fiddled shelf storage over. There is a cushioned seat in front of the hanging locker.

• (2) 12-volt DF-4D 210-amp/hr Service batteries for a total of 420-amps for house accessories
